Michael is the lead videographer. He started making videos in 1995 while
serving in the South African Navy. During this time he attended training
courses on videography.
Today weddings are filmed with an HD Panasonic professional video camera. Adobe
Premier software is used to edit the wedding video into a professional looking
production.
Couples are asked for their imput into how they want their wedding video to
look, after all it's them who have to watch it for the next 50 years, not us.
You supply the music for the video as this gives it your personal touch, and as
our kids say "you do not want my dad's music on your wedding video!"
Start of the video is also up to you, most couples give us a series of
photographs of themselves growing up and their engagement which are shown at the
beginning of the video. Some brave couples even give us photos of the hen &
bull parties :) It is however entilerly up to you.
The video is set up with chapters of the important events so you can easliy
navigate to different parts of the day.
When we meet with the bride to capture a bit of the chaos before the wedding we
like to get a final message from the single women to her soon to be partner. A
good time to point out your expectations like been woken up with a nice cup of
coffee each morning, because by the time it's viewed, it's too late!
Time permitting we also get a message from the groom while waiting at the church
with the best men/women.
While filming the service a cordless microphone in placed on the minister to get
clear sound and if close enough your vows.
We also attach the corless microphone to the mic at the reception to get good
quality sound for the speaches.
While the couple are having their photographs taken we stay with the guests and
get messages of good wishes from them. Sometimes we get a message from everyone
and other time only a few, it depends on your guests. We are not forceful in
wanting a message. Putting people into groups helps break the ice to get them
talking.
Because of the high quality equipment we us, we don't need to make use of
additional lighting, this means that while speaches and dancing is going on we
don't have to shine a bright light in peoples eyes. We do however for the
speaches require the room lighting to be increased.
Production of your wedding video takes about 4 weeks from the time you have
given us all your material for the video, i.e. music and photographs. You can
purchase extra copies of the video from us, and we ask you not to make illegal
copies as this is how we make our living.
You will receive a an edited copy in both DVD and Blu-ray format.
Why couples get their wedding videoed:
Wedding day goes past very quickly and it is difficult to take it all in, the
video gives an opportunity to do just that in peace and quite afterwards.
-
Copies make great gifts to close family and friends.
-
The children will love watching it one day.
-
See who was not singing in church :-) etc...
there are many more personal reasons.
Why have your wedding filmed in HD and edited to Blu-ray disc:
Quality, quality and quality
Do you want your kids laughing at you one day because your wedding video is on
DVD :-)
